We Filipinos love seafood so much. Coming from a country made up of different islands surrounded by oceans, it’s no surprise that seafood is a huge part of our culture. So, when I heard about the 26.25 AED Lunch Deal at Off the Hook (OTH), I knew I had to give it a try. If you’re wondering whether it’s worth it, here’s my experience.
The Vibe at Off the Hook
Off the Hook has a casual, no-frills vibe perfect for quick meals or casual catch-ups. Though it’s a small restaurant with only a few seats, the interiors are nice, and the ambiance is welcoming. It’s a comfortable spot to enjoy a laid-back seafood meal without the need for fancy settings. The staff were friendly, and the restaurant had a good crowd—no doubt drawn by that tempting 26.25 AED lunch deal.
What’s Included in the 26.25 AED Lunch Deal?
For 26.25 AED, you get a good serving of seafood, which includes shrimp, crab, mussels, and crab balls, all served with rice. The deal also comes with your choice of iced tea or water. You can also choose the sauce to go with your meal, and the options include OTH Special, Garlic Butter, Lemon Pepper, Coco Cream, Olives and Herbs, Mushroom and Onion, Curry and Chili, and Asian Special. The variety of sauces really lets you customize the meal to your taste.
My Experience with the Seafood Boil
One of the highlights of the meal is choosing your sauce. I opted for the OTH special sauce with medium spiciness. The sauce was rich and garlicky, with just the right level of heat to bring out the flavors of the seafood. My wife chose the Asian special sauce, which had a delicious curry base. As we always do, we tried each other’s food, and I have to say her sauce was also a great option, adding a unique twist with its creamy curry flavor.
When the meal arrived, I was pleased with the portion size, especially considering the price. The shrimp, crab, and mussels were fresh and cooked perfectly, while the crab balls were a tasty little bonus. The OTH special sauce was flavorful, with just the right balance of garlic and spice, making each bite more enjoyable. The rice soaked up the sauce nicely, leaving me satisfied without feeling overly full.
The Asian special sauce my wife had was milder, with a creamy curry flavor that complemented the seafood well. Both sauces were winners, but my personal favorite remained the OTH special sauce.
An Alternative: The 31.50 AED Seafood Deal
While I was happy with the 26.25 AED lunch deal, there’s another option on the menu: a 31.50 AED deal that includes salmon, seabass, kingfish, crab balls, rice, and your choice of juice or water. Unfortunately, this option wasn’t available during our visit, but it’s something I’d love to try next time. If you’re looking for a more premium seafood experience, this slightly more expensive deal sounds like a great alternative.
Is It Worth the Price?
Definitely! For 26.25 AED, you get a generous portion of fresh seafood, along with rice, crab balls, and a drink. The variety of sauces adds an extra layer of flavor to the meal, making it an excellent value for seafood lovers. Whether you’re a regular seafood fan or just looking for a budget-friendly lunch option, this deal delivers on both quality and price.
