I was so excited over the weekend because it marked the start of Summer Restaurant Week 2024, and I had been eyeing 11 Woodfire for a while now. As a one Michelin star restaurant with a reputation for wood-fired culinary creations, I couldn’t wait to see if the experience would live up to everything people have been saying—and it absolutely did!
The Ambiance
The moment me and my wife walked into 11 Woodfire, located along Jumeirah Beach road, we knew we were in for a special treat. The rustic, wood-accented interior, combined with the soft glow of ambient lighting and the alluring aroma of wood-fired dishes, set the stage for a relaxed and enjoyable afternoon. The ambiance was inviting and perfect for unwinding after a long week.
The Menu
We visited in the afternoon and opted for the lunch set menu, which was priced at 95 AED per person for a three-course meal. For those planning to visit in the evening, the dinner set menu is available for 150 AED per person. Both menus highlight their expertise in wood-fire cooking, offering a variety of dishes that are both creative and delicious.
Starters: A Flavorful Beginning
We kicked off the meal with the Seabass Carpaccio and Chicken Skewers. The Seabass Carpaccio was tangy, with black chili adding a subtle kick, while the pickled wakame brought a refreshing balance to the dish. It was light and zesty, the perfect appetizer to awaken the taste buds.
The Chicken Skewers were slightly spicy, with just enough heat to make things interesting. The tzanaki sauce added a cool, creamy contrast, complementing the grilled chicken beautifully. These skewers were simple yet packed with flavor, setting the tone for the rest of the meal.
Main Course: The Star of the Show
For the main course, we opted for the Wagyu Burger and Boneless Chicken Thigh. The Wagyu Burger was undoubtedly the star of the show for us. It was the first time we had a burger that literally melts in our mouths. The rich, juicy Wagyu patty was paired with Gouda cheese, mushroom duxelles, and a hint of sriracha, creating a perfect balance of flavors and textures. Each bite was a delightful experience, making it the highlight of the meal.
The Boneless Chicken Thigh was also well-prepared, marinated with Asian spices, topped with fried shallots and a flavorful adobo sauce. The tender, juicy meat, combined with the smoky finish from the woodfire grill, made it a satisfying dish, though the Wagyu Burger definitely stole the spotlight.
Dessert: A Sweet Finale
To end the meal on a sweet note, we indulged in the Sheep’s Milk Crème Brûlée and Burnt Cheesecake. While I’m not typically a dessert person, the Burnt Cheesecake truly impressed me. It was served with white and dark chocolate sauce, making for a rich and decadent treat. The combination of flavors and textures made it an enjoyable surprise, and I ended up savoring every bite.
The Sheep’s Milk Crème Brûlée was a creamy and smooth dessert with a perfectly caramelized sugar crust that cracked beautifully under the spoon. The unique flavor of the sheep’s milk added an interesting twist to this classic dessert.
Service and Overall Experience
The service at 11 Woodfire was exceptional. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely focused on ensuring that we had a great dining experience. The food was served promptly, and each dish was presented with care and attention to detail.

11 Woodfire is located at Villa 11 75B St – Jumeirah – Jumeirah 1 – Dubai
Overall, our experience at 11 Woodfire during Summer Restaurant Week 2024 was outstanding. The restaurant delivered on its promise of a unique and delicious dining experience, with the Wagyu Burger standing out as the star of the afternoon.
